Cocktail Recipes from Coyotero Mezcal

To celebrate their arrival to our shores, we asked the folks at Mezcal Coyotero for some of their favourite cocktail recipes…
Cilantro Infusion
with Mezcal Coyotero

Ingredients
- 1½ oz Mezcal Coyotero
- 1½ oz pineapple juice
- A dash of lime juice
- 1 oz simple syrup
- A handful of fresh cilantro
- Top of sparkling water
- Glassware: Old Fashioned glass (12 oz)
- Technique: Shake and light muddle
- Garnish: Small bunch of fresh cilantro
- Rim: Agave worm salt (traditional Oaxacan seasoning)
Preparation:
- In the shaker tin, add a handful of cilantro and muddle gently to release aroma.
- Add a scoop of ice (about 5–6 cubes).
- Pour in Mezcal Coyotero, pineapple juice, lime juice, and simple syrup.
- Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Rim an Old Fashioned glass with Agave worm salt.
- Strain and serve.
- Finish with a splash of sparkling water.
- Garnish with a small bunch of fresh cilantro.
Cucumber & Spearmint Infusion
with Mezcal Coyotero

Ingredients
- 1½ oz Mezcal Coyotero
- 2 oz cucumber and Spearmint concentrate
- ½ oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 oz simple syrup
- Glassware: Old Fashioned glass (12 oz)
- Technique: Shake
- Garnish: Cucumber peel inside the glass
- Rim: Agave worm salt (traditional Oaxacan seasoning)
Preparation:
- Add about 5 ice cubes to a cocktail shaker.
- Combine Mezcal Coyotero, cucumber and mint concentrate, lime juice, and simple syrup.
- Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Rim an Old Fashioned glass with Agave worm salt.
- Strain and serve.
- Garnish with a strip of cucumber peel inside the glass.
Hibiscus & Chile Ancho Infusion
with Mezcal Coyotero

Ingredients
- 1½ oz Mezcal Coyotero
- 2 oz natural hibiscus concentrate
(prepared by soaking hibiscus flowers in water for 5–6 hours, without boiling) - 1 oz simple syrup
- A dash of fresh lime juice
- A dash of Ancho Reyes (chile ancho liqueur)
- Glassware: Old Fashioned glass (12 oz)
- Technique: Shake
- Garnish: Half moon of sour orange
- Rim: Agave worm salt (traditional Oaxacan seasoning)
Preparation:
- Add one scoop of ice (about 5 cubes) to a cocktail shaker.
- Pour in the Mezcal Coyotero, hibiscus concentrate, simple syrup, lime juice, and Ancho Reyes.
- Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.
- Rim an Old Fashioned glass with Agave worm salt.
- Strain and serve.
- Garnish with a half moon of sour orange.
