A world search for the ideal area with perfect conditions for viticulture brought Kai Schubert and Marion Deimling, graduates of the German Viticulture and Oenology University in Geisenheim, to the Wairarapa. Schubert’s vineyards are closely planted and the unique climate produces low yields and internationally award winning wines with intense and complex character.

In 2015, Lisa Perrotti Brown of Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate rates Schubert in the Top 3 Wineries in New Zealand.

“I would go as far to say Kai Schubert and Marion Deimling make some of the most profound Pinot Noir on this planet from their tiny vineyards in Martinborough and the Wairarapa.” – Curtis Marsh, The Wandering Palate, Singapore
